WiFi Issues:
Solutions I've used to resolve
internet connection with my wireless card using public wifi:
my wifi issue was when my pc kept
saying limited or no connectivity. when i tried to renew/repair the connection
it gave me the following message: an error occurred while renewing interface
Wireless Network Connection unable to contact your dhcp server. request has
timed out. so basically i couldn't renew the ip address.
here's what worked ( try all)
Your 169.254.x.x IP shows that you are having problems connecting to the DHCP server.
Go to Wireless Network Connection->Right click properties
Highlight IPV4->Properties
Make sure everything is set to "Automatic" in both tabs. Go back to the first tab, choose Advanced.
Make sure DHCP is enabled.
Go to the DNS tab, make sure "Append primary and connection" is chosen, and append parent suffixes right below that is checked off.
Make sure "Register this connection's addresses in DNS" is checked off.
Go the the WINS tab, Enable LMHOSTS lookup should be chosen. The NetBIOS setting should be set to default.
OK out of all the windows.
Go to Start-Run
services.msc in the run box.
Make sure DHCP Client and DNS client are both Started and Running.
.....
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
